DARIAH theme 2020: Arts, Humanities, and COVID-19

‘Arts, Humanities and COVID-19’ is one of the two funding themes selected for 2020 by the Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (DARIAH). DARIAH aims to enhance and support digitally enabled research and teaching across the arts and humanities in Europe.

The DARIAH Theme is a bi-annual area of focus for investment by the DARIAH Board of Directors. The arts and humanities, and by extension DARIAH as their research infrastructure, have much to contribute to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the areas of emphasis in this scheme could be on how we will collect, curate, preserve and interpret the heterogeneous record of the experience of life and work in early 2020.

DARIAH also seeks innovative projects that explore humanities contributions to understanding the virus and its impacts, and what the study of culture, the arts, values, practices and language can contribute to our response to this global challenge.

The maximum allowable budget is €10 000. Swiss institutions that are cooperating partners of DARIAH, including EPFL and UNIL, are fully eligible to submit proposals under this funding line. Proposal submissions must be made via the DARIAH Theme website by September 18th, 2020.
