Call for papers: 20th Cartography History Colloquium

The Cartography History Colloquium is inviting submissions of papers for its 20th edition, which will be held in Basel from September 10-12, 2020.

The colloquium is being organized by the Swiss Working Group on the History of Cartography (DA-CH), the University Library Basel, the Swiss Society for Cartography, and the Berlin State Library.

It is the first time since 1996 that the international event will be held in Switzerland, and Basel has been chosen for its rich cartographic and printing tradition, as well as several outstanding cartographic collections of international importance.

Those interested in attending are invited to contact by  Markus Heinz of the Berlin State Library at kartographiegeschichte@sbb.spk-berlin.de by April 19th.

Wednesday, September 9, 2020
Afternoon: Cartographic collection visits/tour and meeting of cartographic curators.
Evening: Informal restaurant get-together

Thursday, September 10, 2020
Opening of the colloquium and information event on the DA-CH working group. Lectures and reports with discussions.

Friday, September 11, 2020
Lectures and reports with discussions. Poster session.

Saturday, September 12, 2020
Morning: Lectures and reports with discussions.
Midday: Closing of the colloquium.
Afternoon: Cartographic collection visits/excursion
