Project eTalks

The eTalks are a new multimedia form meant to transmit knowledge, entirely quotable in details (see the demonstration video). They have been created in 2012-2015 by an interdisciplinary team under the lead of Claire Clivaz (UNIL) and Frédéric Kaplan (EPFL), and are developed since 2016 at the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, in the DH+ group.

The eTalk code is available in open source : https://github.com/sib-swiss/etalk-docker. The first version of the eTalks code has been developed in 2012-2015 by Frédéric Kaplan and Cyril Bornet (EPFL), in collaboration with Claire Clivaz (Unil). A new version of the code has been developed by Martial Sankar and Claire Clivaz, SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, in 2016-2019. A course to build your own eTalk is available in the DARIAH platform #dariahTeach, in the course on Multimodal Literacies.

The library of eTalks presents series on funerary rituals, personalized medicine, augmented human and Digital Humanities. A new series is developed in the SNSF project MARK16.
