The 2021 Edition of the Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon is hosted by the ETH Library in Zurich and will take place online on April 16 & 17. This yearly hackathon is a fun, collaborative and innovative event dedicated to our digital heritage.
Once a year, the OpenGLAM Working Group carries out the Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon by bringing together data suppliers, software developers, digital humanists, artists, Wikimedians/Wikipedians and many other interesting characters to experiment with unique cultural data.
The event explores exciting questions, such as:
-How can contents from cultural resources, collections, archives, museums and libraries be used in current research?
-What innovative web and mobile applications can be developed with those data?
-Can the content be used for Wikipedia or for artistic creations?
-Are there any other feasible applications for the data?
Related events with presentations and workshops have been scheduled on 13 and 15 April.
There will be an Onboarding Session on 9 April for everyone who would like to get acquainted with the tools and the datasets a week ahead of the hackathon.
