This edition of the international Deep City Latsis Symposium, to be held in March 2021 at EPFL, will focus on the theme of “Climate Crisis, Democracy and the Digital”.

Participants and speakers will address the key question: is the opposition of machine intelligence and democracy inevitable, or are shared trajectories possible when it comes to data-driven urban design and management?

The event will be a scientific conference staged as a social and cultural event. Participants will be able to attend keynotes and paper presentations, workshops, political debates, table dinners, exhibitions and guided tours.

An open call welcomes proposals to foster debate until October 20th, 2020. Submissions may be on subjects ranging from operational practices to speculative and theoretical questionings, and may be submitted in a variety of formats (written, built, coded, drawn, figured, imagined, filmed, modeled, etc.)
