*Cancelled due to COVID* Collart-Palmyre Project at the Numerik Games Festival

From November 13th to 15th, 2020, the dhCenter’s Collart-Palmyre Project will present its activities, plus a virtual reality experience, at the Numerik Games Festival in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland.

The annual and interdisciplinary Numerik Games Festival is dedicated to art, digital culture, and new technologies. The fifth edition this November will be held on the theme of ‘Monsters‘, in reference to the the coronavirus pandemic, thus “offering a reflection on our contemporary society which condemns the monstrous, while she herself remains blind to her own monstrosities.”

The Collart-Palmyre Project, headed by dhCenter member Patrick Michel of the University of Lausanne, will be featured at an exhibition of digital research projects at the festival. Visitors will be able to experience the Collart-Palmyre Project’s virtual reality tour of the now-destroyed archaeological site of the Baalshamîn sanctuary in the ancient city of Palmyra, present-day Syria.
