Isabella di Lenardo is a researcher in digital humanities, urban history and digital art history at EPFL. Her research activity is focused on digital tools and methods applied to urban history and art history. She is a specialist in ancient cartography, city representations, cadastral sources interpreted through digital modeling, extraction and analysis systems. She’s also interested in network analysis questioning the production and circulation of artistic knowledge in Europe’s XVI – XVIII centuries, and of north-south relationships and influences in particular.
She leads research projects funded by the SNSF, European Commission, Bibliothèque national de France (Paris), Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art (Paris), École nationale des chartes (Paris), Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, and Louvre Museum. She is currently head of “Replica” project aiming digitize 1M photos analyzing visual patterns and of the Lausanne Time Machine initiative.
