The Faculty of Computer Sciences of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano is offering a four-year, industrial PhD grant on the topic: “Design and implementation of a system based on virtual knowledge graphs for the use of open data related to cultural heritage”.

The focus of the program will be the design and development of ontology-based data integration (OBDA) systems for cultural heritage open data, which include both tangible artifacts (artistic and/or archaeological objects, monuments, churches, etc.) and intangible artifacts (popular and culinary traditions, uses and costumes, traditional manufacturing techniques, etc.).

The grant is equally co-funded by the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and the NOI Techpark Südtirol/Alto Adige, and formally awarded by the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. It will be carried out within the context of the ongoing NOI Techpark project, “Open Data Hub“.
